Dr. Lairson specializes in interventional spine care for neck and low back pain. He helps patients determine when surgery is necessary and when alternatives exist. Since 1998, his treatment expertise includes fluoroscopically guided procedures such as epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, discograms and radiofrequency ablations.
Diagnosing peripheral nerve injury is a secondary area of his interest. This frequently requires nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG) which Dr. Lairson performs on-site at the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic.
Dr. Lairson feels the best medical care encompasses a comprehensive and often multi-disciplinary rehabilitation approach. This rehabilitation program may include exercise, stretching, physical therapy, modalities, medication, education and procedures.
Dr. Lairson is married with three children. He was raised and lives in Southwest Portland and enjoys being with family, skiing, and fishing.
