Knee Training Zone
ACL- Risk Assessment and Injury Prevention Program

Welcome to the Orthopedic+Fracture Specialists Knee Training Zone.  The Knee Training Zone was designed by physical therapists and Orthopedic Surgeons to assess and reduce the risk of anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

The purpose of the Orthopedic+Fracture Specialists Training Zone program is to reduct the athletes' risk for a serious knee injury by improving movement patterns and muscle balance. The Knee Training Zone is based on extensive reviews of programs that have demonstrated a reduction in non-contact ACL injuries amongst their participants. While no program can guarantee that an athlete won't suffer an ACL injury, we have created this program to reduce the risk of non-contact injuries.

Participants in the program are asked to complete a video assessment of their jumping and landing mechanics that will take approximately 2 minutes per athlete. At the conclusion of the team session, athletes and coaches will be instructed in the basic principles of reducing knee injury risk. From the testing we will establish baseline information and determine a risk level for the athlete: red for greatest risk, yellow for moderate risk, and green for lowest risk. Athletes will receive an email of their video, explaining their risk level, within 30 days from testing. Red level athletes will be invited to participate in a follow up group focus session with one of our physical therapists..
